المونة

The pantry of the Levant, by the case.

Za’atar milled by a Jaffa family, halawa pressed to a 1936 Damascus recipe, tahini from Gaziantep stone mills. Build your list, send it once — we quote within a day.

الفكرة The idea

Dar (دار — house) treats the shop as a family trading house, not a supermarket. A dark, roasted-sesame ground lets product photography glow like jars on a lamplit shelf. Arabic is not decoration here — every heading is a true bilingual lockup, because the buyers and the goods live in both languages. One accent — tahini gold — is spent carefully; everything else stays quiet.

Cream on Roasted Sesame ≈ 12.9:1 contrast; gold reserved for accents and large type. Sumac is never used for body text on dark.

النبرة Voice & ordering flow

The voice — a host, not a checkout

  • “Ahlan. Tell us what your shelves need.”
  • “Added to your list — no commitment yet.”
  • “Your list is on its way. We reply within one business day.”

How ordering works — three steps, no prices

  1. Browse the catalogue by origin or category.
  2. Build a list — cases, tubs, tins; quantities optional.
  3. Send the inquiry — we come back with a quotation.

الحركة Motion

One orchestrated moment: on load, the Arabic hero word settles first, the English answers, and a gold hairline draws across. After that, restraint — soft hover lifts on cards, the basket count ticks up, nothing scroll-jacked. All motion collapses underprefers-reduced-motion.
